WELCOME ALL
The name is Jose Dejesus, I emerged on June 13,1997 in North Philadelphia. Since birth, I have always had a fancy for change. By the age of three, I picked up a pencil and almost innately felt the burst of passion syncing into my veins and from that moment forward, I found my place in the world. Growing up in a crowded household, I was exposed to a variety of different characters and personalities as well as my personal life experiences. I found myself growing and learning slightly ahead of my time thus, reaching a point of view of where the world was becoming a complacent and stagnant environment. However, when becoming wrapped and lost into my sketchbook, was when my world changed and the endless journeys began. It was as if the more I connected the pencil to the paper, the more connected I became with my true nature. I could literally draw my days away and so I did. As I continued my journey, I attended the C.A.P.A High School (Creative And Performing Arts) as a visual arts major; a very reputable and well respected institution that has helped foster alumnus such as, Boyz to Men, Questlove & Black Thought of “The Roots”, Jasmine Sullivan, and James DeFrancesco, to name a few. As my life went on, I was wonderfully exposed to a plethora of art forms. Only to realize that they were all under the visual arts umbrella. Forms of art such as ceramics and graphic design. Being exposed to these different forms of art not only furthered my intellect and substance but also boosted my skills as an artist. As I continued to sharpen my art studies and skills, I was given the honor of being invited to White House By First Lady Michelle Obama under President Barack Obama's term; to be a part of a few workshops in which I was able to talk and connect with other upcoming artists. This is when I truly got the sense of my craft and passion being able to take me to many heights that I had only yet to reach. Almost directly after graduating high school, I decided to start my own company “HII CUSTOMS”, where I customized & personalized pieces such as paintings, shoes, clothing, etc. As with any first steps you take in life, the task was far from easy; however, I knew that this was the route I wanted to take to propel me further and no obstacle would be too big of a challenge. As my business slowly but surely continued to grow and I was gaining more credibility as a professional artist, I was part-taking in creating and making pieces for well known celebrities as well as upcoming artist by the likes of, The Philadelphia 76ers basketball team, Fatboy SSE, Drama, Brent Faiyaz, Wallo, etc. As my life continues to flourish and unfold, my craft, my talent, my passion has taken me to those heights that in the beginning were only dreams in the making. My passion and relentless dedication has propelled me to lead a life of stability as well as, allowed me to further broaden my horizons, being able to connect with other artists, part-take in collaborations as well as, travel and expand my knowledge of art and the world around me.
